Less than 300 yards from the congested & bustling thoroughfare that is Sidcup High Street, there remains to this day a part of the old rural setting that has not been ravaged by the march of the 20th century progress. Here, canopied by the tranquillity of bygone days , can be found the olde worlde terraced grounds & gardens backed by a panorama of undulating meadows, patterned with woodland & distant farm: a truly pastoral scene & atmosphere
This is a description in the 1958-60 Sidcup Rec Club Handbook. I think it is a good description of the club, the only thing changed is there is no congested & bustling High Street
